Creating a Sacred Space

  • Kadampa Meditation Center Indianapolis 4010 West 86th Street, Suite C Indianapolis, IN, 46268 United States (map)
Sacred space for meditation

If we want to enjoy meditation and integrate it into our life, it helps to create a special space for it in our home. Having a meditation space is especially helpful when life is stressful, because the space itself can remind us to connect to the potential for peace within our own heart and the support that is available all around us.

This course is an opportunity to understand the beauty and power of setting up a Buddhist shrine that will act as a focus for the energy of our spiritual practice. We will explore the meaning behind the different elements of a traditional shrine as well as essential aspects of setting it up and making offerings. Our personal shrine will become a refuge, supporting our meditation and making our spiritual practice joyful and fulfilling.
