NKT Day is celebrated annually at all 1,200 Kadampa Centers around the globe. The day is intended to help people learn about the origins of this pure tradition of Buddha’s teachings. Kadampa Buddhism presents an unusually clear, complete and practical set of instructions that everyone can follow in order to make authentic spiritual progress.
This day will also mark a very special beginning for KMC Indianapolis: welcoming its new Resident Teacher, Kelsang Zamling, a modern Buddhist monk and a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for many years. Zamling has taught extensively in the United States and in the United Kingdom. He completed an intensive 6-month Special Teacher Training Program with our General Spiritual Director, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, to further his qualifications as a Teacher. Before coming to Indianapolis, he spent the last 3 1/2 years as Resident Teacher of KMC Glasgow in Scotland. He has a reputation of being well-loved by his students, and sets an immaculate example of someone who has taken Buddha’s teachings to heart. Zamling is known for his practical approach, and we feel very fortunate to welcome him as our Teacher at KMC Indianapolis.
Please join us on April 1 for this free and very special event!
