Resident Teacher Kadam Tom Mitchell is a charter member of Kadampa Meditation Center Indianapolis and has been a student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over 20 years. He is a faithful and sincere practitioner who has a deep understanding of the Kadampa teachings. His classes and meditations are inspiring for both beginner and advanced students. Kadam Tom is also a professor at Indiana University, and is an internationally known author.
Kathy Ryan has been teaching Dharma for over 7 years, and has been a student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over a decade. She has taught a variety of classes at the center, Foundation Program, and branch classes. She also works as a music therapist in and around Indianapolis. Kathy continues to inspire students with her deep faith and sincere teachings on Monday nights at Buddhism for Beginners.
Fred May has been a student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over 15 years, and has been teaching for more than a decade. He is also a nursing professor at the University of Indianapolis. Fred is a sincere practitioner with a wealth of knowledge on mala making and statue filling. He continues to play a large role in the growth and continuation of Kadampa Meditation Indianapolis.
Kari Totten has been a sincere student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso since 2011. Her warmth and compassion make her a true inspiration and a comforting presence. Kari is currently a medical assistant with HealthNet / IU Health, servicing some of the most impoverished communities in Indianapolis. Kari is actively pursuing her degree in nursing and has a strong wish to always be of service to others.
Amy Brown has been a student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso since 2007. She is a sincere dharma practitioner and delights in teaching both adults and children alike. Amy currently teaches the development of artistic behavior with elementary school-aged children in the Indianapolis Public Schools system. Her favorite activities are attending international festivals and spending time with her family and friends.
Kara Gott Warner has been a student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso since 2004. She works tirelessly for dharma by designing and maintaining the Kadampa Meditation Center Indianapolis website and has also played a role in helping to create publicity to promote events at the Center. Kara is an avid and passionate knitter and works as the Executive Editor of Creative Knitting Magazine.
