Introductory classes begin with a simple guided relaxation meditation to reduce stress, tension, and distractions. This short meditation is followed by a meaningful talk on how to apply Buddhist principles into daily life. This may include topics such as improving relationships, gaining peace of mind, learning to love, and dealing with anger.
Each class then has a slightly different format, where some have a short discussion, prayers, and a second guided meditation on the days topic to help us gain a deeper experience of the subject matter.
What classes should I start with? The 10am Sunday classes or the 7pm evening classes are the perfect way to learn about meditation. You don’t need to call ahead as all the classes are drop-in and have a different topic each week. They are designed to accommodate those that are coming for the first time.
After the class After the class everyone is welcome to stay for refreshments. There is a chance to meet the meditation teacher to ask any questions you may have or simply enjoy the company of the other participants.
What do I need to attend? You need only to have a wish to have a wonderful experience. Simply find a class day/time and come to the class!
Join us and see for yourself what meditation can do for you! Everyone is welcome, regardless of background or faith. You don’t need to be a Buddhist to benefit from meditation. You will be joining people from all walks of life. We recommend to dress comfortably. Most people sit on regular chairs. Sitting cushions are available if desired.
